A picnic is never a bad idea, and one enjoyed amongst the enchanting views of Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is a sure way to add a dash of wholesomeness to your weekend, or week. Delicious treats for your tummy, eyes and soul? Sounds like your plans are set, unless you aren’t a fan of lovely things of course.

The Fynkos Kirstenbosch Tea Room offers gorgeous picnic arrangements year-round, so it may be time to head on over to the land of flowers and delicacies.
You can order your picnic beforehand online, or head on over to the Tea Room and pick your picnic in person.
To give you a little taste, here’s what you can look forward to feasting on:
The Finger Food Picnic is made up of rare roast sirloin accompanied by half pickled cucumbers and chilli poppers, meatballs, chicken nuggets, spinach and feta quiche, hummus, wholewheat bread, pitas, kettle fried crisps and more. Sweet-tooth delicacies are the cherry on top of the picnic basket, where petite four cakes, chocolate and fudge cakes as well as cheesecake with strawberry topping join the festivities.
Vegetarians can look forward to a basket made up of chickpea falafels, tabouleh, roast eggplant and Turkish salad which are on the checkered cards as well as more, with desserts the same as the Finger Food Picnic.
All food is prepared in Fynkbos’s fabulous kitchen and the baskets are R275 per person.

The Fynkos Tea Room is open every day of the year from 9am to 4pm, and the tastebud journey doesn’t stop at picnics. Their bakes, breakfasts and lunches as well as high tea options are all simply waiting for the pleasure of your company.
